Dear Prof. Roth
".....and it is my distinct pleasure to inform you that I will forward my recommendation of tenure on your behalf to the President and Board of Trustees.........and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor"
So there it is. After 6 years of sweating it, it all comes down to this one final letter. Many thanks to friends in the 'blogosphere' for all the support, especially over the last 6 months - it has been much appreciated.
Woo hoo!!

Aunt Patty - Thanks! - almost as good as tenure was the promotion! Karen figured out the great woman you were referring to without mentioning her by name - I'd be a dead man if she didn't!!!!!!!!
Chrissy - thanks for shouting - it was the last 3 "OOO"s that got it over here! :) Karen told me you posted something on your blog about it also - thanks for that!
Hey! I'm coming in a little late on this but congratulations and well done!! It must be nice to finally exhale. Enjoy your newfound fame, popularity, and prestige!
Even later than Lara but WHOOHOO!!!
Good news, Ed!
Hey Lara and Jon - thanks for hanging in there with me. My running blog has turned into a everything other than running blog - but only for the moment. I've been planning...........summer should be good.
So now why are we just seeing this now, eight days later. Of course there was never a doubt in our minds. Congratulations to you and to Karen and the kids. So now we expect to see more of you especially this summer up north. WE are so proud of you!
Mom and Dad
Don't know you, Prof. Roth, and found you only because of our shared interest in the Tigers, but as an anxious assistant professor, I want to extend my congratulations. :)
